What is EVMT?
The Evergreen Valley Math Tournament, or EVMT, is a math contest for local elementary and middle schools students from 5th to 8th grade. Our mission is to help younger students become interested in math by providing a fun, educational, and competitive experience. We hope that through this contest, students will see that math is a subject that involves a lot of creativity and ingenuity, not repetition and memorization. Furthermore, we hope that students will be able to meet new acquaintances and find a community of their peers who also like mathematics. Everyone on the organizing team wishes that they found out about math contests earlier on, so we are very motivated to provide a better experience for younger students in the Evergreen area.
